NUOVO PROGETTO --- NEW PROJECT

After the "little red square" made by 399 quilters, after the textile book celebrating the 20th anniversary of quilt italia, it is the time to start a new project: using the shapes of the feet of Italian quilters and their nieces.

"Children are able to find all even when there is nothing, men find nothing even when there is everything"

Avremo 365 particolari "personali"e unici.

I read these words by Giacomo Leopardi on Monica's blog "le tre civette", it made me think and remind a game I learned during one of the psychology workshops I attended
Let me explain it to you and I hope it will help.
At night, when we go to sleep, we think most of the times "what a bad day today" or "today everything went wrong" and we see all black, because our days are full of lack of time, stress, commitments, hurry.
Actually, there was for sure a moment of happiness but we didn't recognise it.
This is the game. Before falling asleep, we should try to think about a nice moment, make a postcard o a picture out of it and keep it in our mind, which is so wide and able to keep not only negative but also positive moments.
In the beginning, the "postcards" will be one or two, but then practicing we will be able to find a lot of them and the game will become more and more difficult, because we will have to keep only one of them, the most beautiful.
The day after we need to find two minutes to write down on our personal notebook "our postcard" with the date and a little comment. At the end of the year we will have 365 moments to remember.
We will have 365 "personal" and unique details.
To me, reading Monica's quote was a moment to take a picture of.

A beautiful stamp could remind us of received and sent postcards.

Walking in the street we could notice a heart, a lot of kites, a coloured manhole or a heart-shaped signal.

The smell of a flower could remind us of having painted some flowers, or of admiring a flower made of fabrics.

Some words written on a quilt could remind us of reading a poem, of creating a wall of written words and of listening to the words (sounds) of music.

A smile could remind us of having helped someone and a handshake of helping them again.

Buona Giornata!
A keyhole of an ancient door could remind us of creating some paper-birds for our home or of making our children drawing on an old bedsheet to cheer up a sed corner or of dragonflies bring Spring, even when make of glass. I wish you a happy day!

TUTORIAL E MANO DI BUDDA --- TUTORIAL AND BUDDHA'S HAND

Today I heard about this tasty natural product and I want to share it with you immediately.
This Citrus is commonly known as " Buddha's hand", even though the real name is "DIGITATA" and is part of the Citrus Medica family, it's really tasty.
It can be divided into little pieces and I swear it's so tasty.

Ciao a tutte.
Here the tutorial to print pictures on fabric.
Ciao all.

PS.

PS. AN UPDATE FOR THE TUTORIAL.
I just received an email from Marlis of TexArtAcademy that having seen my printer EPSON, wrote to me that with this printer, using DURABRITE ULTRA  ink  or  ULTRACHROME (which is more expensive) is not necessary the Bubble Jet liquid.
If you have a printer HP Photosmart Pro B9180 use Vivera PIGMENT ink.
For all the other printers is important to use BubbleJet liquid.

BERGAMO - DANIELA DANCELLI

Last weekend, in Bergamo, there was Creattiva, the fair of creativity. I don't have pictures as I forgot to bring my camera (and this fact makes me worry a bit).
You can find all the pics on Laura's blog.

I met a lot of friends I haven't seen for a while. Among them also Daniela Dancelli, a quilter who had to leave patchwork behind for family reasons.
She's now back on track and starting from Houston with a quilt and a book dedicated to 40 artists from all over the world.

If you are planning to go to Houston Fair, don't forget to look at Daniela's quilt and flip through the 10 pages dedicated to her.

MILANO.......RITRATTO DI DONNE --- MILAN.....PORTRAIT OF WOMEN

"Milano....ritratto di una città".
"Milan... portrait of a city".

When I've read the title of the patchwork competition by my association, I've immediately started thinking of Women in Milan and of my little outlines. So, I prepared the quilt "Milan... portrait of Women".
I haven't finished it on time and so I can show it to you.

Here you are Women in Milan. I've imagined them with colored ribbons on the grey and black railways of the three tube lines of Milan. The travelling heart of the city.
Women, busy with their hard daily stuff, living their days fighting against time... they enliven and color the city with smiles, music, tears, laughs, preoccupations, thoughts, children, husbands, shopping, school, work, fun, parfums, tastes, emotions, friendships, coldness, love, warmness, resemblances and differences.

Resemblances and differences connected to the differences of countries and nations of origin. These, voluntarily or involuntarily, exchanging themselves in each moment they live and they move into... one beside the other, even though they don't know each other.
Women in Milan... so cold, so solar; so lonely, so international; so selfish, so altruist; so independent, so household; so similar, so different. They are colored points giving vivacity to the city.

I've talked to the Women of Milan close to me and connected to my daily life. But, this post is for all Women... so different, so similar... all over the world.

And here some Women today in Milan.

CREATIVITA' DELLE DONNE --- THE CREATIVITY OF WOMEN

Ciao a tutte,

Ciao to everybody, today I want to talk to you and I take inspiration from the event organized on wednesday 12th by the psychologist Ornella Convertino and Stefania Pellegrini at the new place dedicated to women.
The theme of the night was "The creativity of women."
I have been admiring works, I have been listening to poems and songs, I have been listening to women telling how they have realized they have something inside that they absolutly had to let go out for themselves -first of all- and for the others then.
I have been listening to happy women who knew thay had a gift for something................ at the end of their working life dedicated themselves to their creativity and didn't just stopped and said "it's too late."
I have been listening to women who have unexpectedly found out they had a natural gift..............changing their monotonous life.
...............I have realized that Creativity of Women is endless, it has so many faces and manifests itself in any field, from cooking to painting - from poems to gardening
and then from sewing to patchwork and here I come to us...........yep, I meet the "CREATIVITY OF WOMEN" every day when I come and visit your virtual world........it's such an endless, imaginative, fantastic creativity made of works, words, cooking, cleaning, travels, pictures, flowers, mails, confessions and reflections.
It's a creativity that in some moments moves me, in other moments gives me serenity and calm or it pushes me to overcome weakness and sadness I have sometimes.
It's a creativity that makes me feel part of a big World of Women who feel unite -even if they have different nationalities- and.......who want to be part and create all together a WONDERFUL VIRTUAL PATCHWORK.

and .............yesterday I've received a gift from my friend Rita Frizzera that has a lot of creativity that she let come out through patchwork and trough these wonderful wax balls for the Christmas Tree too.
