I BLOCCHI TRICOLORE

Ecco i tricolori realizzati con i blocchi che mi avete mandato, dopo essere stati quiltati da Laura, sono a casa mia.

Manca il binding e poi li passerò a Patrizia e decideremo per donarli.

Sono quattro di circa 130x130 cm e sono bellissimi.

Dopo il binding li fotograferò uno per uno.

Grazie a chi ha mandato il blocco e a chi ha lavorato per unirli.

DONNE, ITALIA, BANDIERA --- WOMEN, ITALY, FLAG

"RADICI" è il nome di questo quilt che nel 2009, ha partecipato in Val d'Argent, al concorso "Colori di un paese".
Claudia Belluzzi che ne è l'autrice, nel suo sito lo descrive così:
" NOI SIAMO IL FRUTTO DI UNA LUNGA STORIA. FIGLI DI UN GRANDE POPOLO: I ROMANI.
I NOSTRI ANTENATI SONO L'ESPRESSIONE PIU' ALTA DI GENIO, POESIA, ARTE, AVVENTURA E MUSICA.
IN LORO AFFONDANO LE NOSTRE RADICI CHE LASCIANO INTRAVEDERE QUEI COLORI COSì CARI DELLA NOSTRA BANDIERA,ESPRESSIONE DI APPARTENENZA AD UN POPOLO UNICO: L' ITALIA".

"ROOTS" is the name of this quilt, which took part in the competition "Colours of a country" in 2009 in Val d'Argent.
Claudia Belluzzi its creator, describes the quilt on her website as follows:
"WE ARE THE RESULT OF A LONG HISTORY. SONS OF GREAT PEOPLE: THE ROMANS.
OUR ANCESTORS ARE THE HIGHEST EXPRESSION OF GENIUS, POETRY, ART, ADVENTURE AND MUSIC.
IT'S FROM THEM THAT OUR ROOTS COME AND LET GLIMPSE THOSE COLOURS SO DEAR TO OUR FLAG,
EXPRESSION OF BELONGING TO ONE NATION: ITALY".

Radici - Claudia Belluzzi

In occasione dell'8 Marzo ho collegato le mani lombarde di Claudia alle mani siciliane delle sig.re Vitina Granozzi Patera e Ippolita De Stefani Perez che nella notte del 12 maggio 1860, cucirono una bandiera tricolore.
Il mattino seguente la bandiera fu consegnata a Giuseppe Garibaldi, sulla spianata della torre del castello di Salemi in Sicilia, prima che iniziasse il suo viaggio verso l'unificazione dell'Italia.

On the occasion of the 8th March I've joined the lombard hands of Claudia with the Sicilian ones of Vitina Granozzi Patera and Ippolita De Stefani Perez, who sewed a tricoloured flag on the night of the 12th May 1860.
The following morning that flag was given to Giuseppe Garibaldi above the tower of Salemi Castle in Sicily, before he started his travel towards the unification of Italy.

In this trip from sud to nord or from nord to sud, in the middle of Italy there is Rome, the city known all over the world for its beauty. So here the quilt "ROME" by Verena Giavelli.

Le mani sono il filo conduttore per il mio 2011. Ho usato alcune mani delle socie di Quilt Italia, più i colori della bandiera italiana, per realizzare questo quilt "MANI DI DONNE ITALIANE".

As hands are my leading thread for 2011, I have used some of the hands made by the members of Quilt Italia plus the colours of the Italian flag to created this quilt "HANDS OF ITALIAN WOMEN".

Le mani delle quilters cuciono, uniscono e colorano l'Italia, pezzettino dopo pezzettino con tanti piccoli punti, rendendola allegra e piena di mille colori.

Quilters' hands sew, link and colour Italy, piece after piece with many little stitches, making it happy and full of thounsands colours.

QUILT ITALIA E IL TRICOLORE (1) --- QUILT ITALIA AND "TRICOLORE" (1)

Durante questo weekend ad Abilmente, la fiera della creatività di Vicenza, il patchwork è esposto, in tutta la sua creatività attraverso diverse mostre organizzate da Quilt Italia.

Io sono andata giovedì, ho scattato parecchie foto ed inizio con queste dedicate alla Bandiera Italiana ,

"Il Tricolore", che quest'anno compie 150 anni.

During this weekend at Abilmente, Vicenza's creativity fair, patchwork is shown in all its creativity through different exhibitions organised by Quitl Italia. I went on Thursday, I took a lot of pictures and I start with these ones dedicated to the Italian Flag,

"Tricolore" (meaning three colours). It is its 150th birthday this year.
