E' un modo di dire che
Frezzia67 ha tradotto alla lettera quando a fine marzo ha dedicato un articolo al lancio di un' iniziativa volta a sostenere un'amica in difficoltà.
Lo traduco in Italiano dopo aver chiesto e gentilmente ottenuto il consenso a farlo.

"Besoin d'un serieux coup de main" del 29.03.2008 "Ho a cuore questo articolo già da una settimana, quindi nel week-end pubblicherò solo questo perchè mi auguro che sia letto da molti.
Ho un'amica alla quale vorrei tendere una mano ... un modo di ricordarle, un modo di dirle che sono qui, che siamo qui, perchè siete in molte a conoscerla.
Preferisco tacere il suo nome perchè prima di tutto non è utile conoscere una persona per tenderle la mano. La vita sarebbe molto più facile se fossimo capaci di tendere spontaneamente le nostre mani a coloro che ne hanno più bisogno".
Ecco allora, è molto semplice:
prendete un pezzo di tessuto, uno che vi rappresenti per materiale o per colore.
Sul rovescio del tessuto tracciate il contorno della vostra mano (destra, sinistra, come preferite). Poi tagliate la sagoma lasciando da 5 a 8 cm. di braccio.
Fate scivolare la vostra mano in tessuto in una busta e speditemela, scrivendo su un foglio allegato il vostro nome o il vostro nick.
Soprattutto non perdete tempo a scrivermi via mail per dirmi che volete partecipare, o per spiegarmi che potreste: ma non subito .... o fra un pò per dirmi che non avete potuto ecc.
Tutto ciò sarebbe tempo perso .... il tempo che ci manca tanto! Non c'è bisogno di iscrizioni nè di conferme, e per guadagnare ancora più tempo vi lascio il mio indirizzo:

Non invierò mail di conferma per confermare il ricevimento della posta ma ogni giorno in un angolo del mio blog aggiornerò la lista delle mani ricevute.
Il mio scopo è di ricevere la maggior quantità di mani possibile per comporre un grande affresco per la nostra amica.
Soprattutto non ricamate, non fate lavoretti, non raccogliete qualcosa, insisto davvero!!!!!
Affinchè l'affresco sia bello occorre sia vario nei tessuti e nei colori impiegati, essendo tutto unito nelle forme affinchè giustamente si crei da questo quadro un'unità, una forza, un insieme.
Non cercate di distinguervi ricamando il vostro nome, aggiungendo perle o altro, non c'è nemmeno bisogno di foderarla, bisogna veramente che sia in accordo con le altre
e soprattutto fare il più presto possibile.
In qualche modo l'unica libertà è la scelta del tessuto e del colore.
Per esempio per la mia mano ho scelto un tessuto nei miei colori preferiti e in più è un tessuto offertomi dalla mia NSP.
Non importa la qualità del tessuto, non importa se è nuovo o usato, ciò che conta veramente è comprendere questo progetto e parteciparvi per il piacere di farlo.
Coloro che vorranno potranno mostrare le loro mani sui loro blogs, spiegando per esempio la loro scelta di materiale e colore, e ciò forse permettrà ad altre di aggiungere le loro mani alle nostre.
Forza allora, aiutatemi a dimostrare che la virtualità dei nostri rapporti ha per base la realtà delle nostre amicizie.

commenti di questo post risponderò affinchè tutti ne possano trarre vantaggio.

I won't send e-mail to confirm that I've received your hand but
everyday in a corner of my blog I'll update the list of the received hands.
My goal is to get as many hands as possible to compose a big fresco for our friend.
Do not embroider, do not embellish , do not collect anything, I really insist about this !!!!!
In order to get a beautiful fresco I need various fabrics and colors. And so there will be a sort of unit, power and sense of whole coming from this work.
Do not try to distinguish with your name, adding pearls or anything else,
there is no need to line it too, it is really necessary that the hand is in accordance with the other.
And above all do it as soon as possible.
Somehow the only freedom is the choice of fabric and color.
For example for my hand I've chosen a fabric of my favorite colors.
No matter the quality of the fabric, no matter whether it is new or used, what counts is to understand this project and to participate for the pleasure of doing it.
Those who want to show their hands on their blogs, explaining
for example their choice of materials and colors, and perhaps this will allow other quilters to add their hands to ours.
Come on then, help me to demonstrate that the virtuality of our relations is
based on the reality of our friends.
