QUILT DELLE STAGIONI

E...dopo tanto tempo il quilt è terminato.

CHE DOMENICA!!! --- WHAT A SUNDAY!!!

Ciao eccomi qui dopo tanto tanto tempo. E inizio raccontandovi la mia domenica appena trascorsa. Naturalmente ve la racconto allegramente. La mattinata è stata un po' faticosa. Ho partecipato ad un set fotografico di tre amiche.
Hi here I am after so much time. And I start telling you about last Sunday. Of course I'll tell you everything in a happy way.

Luci pronte. Lights ready.

            Dopo il lungo trucco, arrivano le tre amiche.  After the long makeup, the three friends arrived.

D...... che ha sempre tanti impegni, tante idee per la testa tanto che i capelli non le stanno più in ordine.

D. ... who is always very busy, with so many ideas in her mind that the hair are not more in order.

E..... che ama la cucina, le torte, le crostate di frutta. 

E.... who loves cooking, cakes, cakes with fruit.

L.... che invece ama la musica e le note le frullano in testa. 

L. ... who loves music and the notes spin in her mind.

Alla fine una foto tutte insieme e poi ognuna alla propria casa meno di L.... che nel pomeriggio si è regalata un bel concerto di Vincent Peirani & Ulf Wakenius.

At the end a picture all together and everyone home except L. ... who gave herself as a gift a nice concert by Vincent Peirani & Ulf Wakenius in the afternoon.

LASAGNE --- LASAGNA

Solitamente non amo dirmi che sono brava ecc ecc, specialmente in cucina.
Questa volta però devo congratularmi con me stessa, sono stata grande, ho cucinato un piatto meraviglioso sia per la vista che per il palato. Naturalmente con l'aiuto di  Cavoletto di Bruxelles.
Ho creato un piatto di lasagne superbe.
Basta coi complimenti.....naturalmente aspetto i vostri! Passo a spiegarvi la ricetta.
Usually I don't like telling myself that I'm good at something, especially when it comes to cooking.

But this time I have to, I've been great, I've cooked something amazing both for taste and eyes. Of course with the help of Cavoletto di Bruxelles.

I created superb Lasagne.

LASAGNE AL CARDO
CARDOON LASAGNA

La forma delle lasagne la volevo come quella delle torte farcite di crema pasticcera oppure di cioccolato che scende dai bordi.
Ho pulito e cotto i cardi in acqua con qualche goccia di limone,
poi ho preparato la besciamella e poi ho iniziato a preparare gli strati.
Ho usato una teglia antiaderente e poi ho alternato uno strato di pasta sfoglia
(comperata già pronta al supermercato)

I wanted the shape of the Lasagna to be like the one of cakes stuffed with cream or chocolate coming down from the borders.

I've cleaned and cooked the cardoons in water with some drops of lemon. Then I've prepared the white sauce and then started creating the layers.

I've used a nonstick baking pan and then I've started putting a layer of puff pastry (I've bought it already prepared), 

poi uno strato di besciamella,

one of white sauce, 

un po' di pecorino, i cardi,
some sheep milk cheese,the cardoons,

un po' di besciamella, un po' di parmigiano reggiano
white sauce, some Parmesan 

e poi ancora pasta e via via tutti gli altri ingredienti.

and then pastry and all the ingredients again.

Il risultato, lo vedete in questa foto, è stato eccezzzzzzzzionale e il molto gradito.

Scusate se mi sono un po' elogiata, ma non potevo farne a meno.

You can see the result in this picture, it was yummy and really appreciated.

MEETING

Fiori, fiori, fiori......è primavera e in giardino i lavori da eseguire sono molti.

Flowers, flowers, flowers ...... it's spring and the works to do in the garden are many.

Spesso si partecipa a convegni e riunioni che hanno come argomento la "natura".

Ieri ho partecipato ad uno di questi incontri con esperti giardinieri e orticultori.

Often we go to conferences and meetings about "nature".
Yesterday I attended one of these meetings with expert gardeners and horticulturists.

I lavori sono iniziati con una discussione su cosa, tra ortaggi e frutta, piacesse di più agli animali

The work began with a discussion about what animals like more between vegetables and fruits

Dopo una prova con insalata, carote e mele e dopo un breve giretto nell'orto si è deciso di provare con le foglie dei cavolini di Bruxelles e con i fiori gialli.

After a test with lettuce, carrots and apples, and after a short walk in the garden it was decided to try with the leaves of Brussels sprouts and yellow flowers.

Gli animali hanno gradito.

The animals enjoied.

Il gruppo di esperti si è poi spostato nella "serra degli agrumi" dove ......

Then the group of experts moved to the "greenhouse of citrus" where ......

salutato "Speed" il coniglio .....

said hello to "Speed" the rabbit .....

e dopo un piccolo break con marmellata e tea......

and after a short break with tea and jam ......

si è deciso di travasare alcune piantine in un vaso più grande usando un nuovo tipo di terriccio.

it was decided to transfer some plants in a larger container using a new type of soil.

Esperimento riuscito tutte le piantine sono state travasate e .....

Successful experiment all seedlings were decanted and .....

e verso le 11.30, per impegni improrogabili degli esperti che dovevano recarsi presso una scuola materna, la riunione è stata rimandata alla prossima settimana. L'argomento sarà " la crescita degli ortaggi nell'orto".

and at about 11.30m, because of unavoidable commitments of the experts who had to go to a nursery, the meeting has been postponed to next week. The topic will be "the growth of vegetables in the garden."

e ieri pomeriggio terza tappa di avvicinamento al quilting day di ottobre.

and yesterday afternoon the third step towards the quilting day of October.

SOGNARE AD OCCHI APERTI --- DAYDREAMING

Sognare ad occhi aperti!

Che bello, non costa niente e ti fa fantasticare come vuoi e quanto vuoi.

Se nascevo con un fisico esile e in un altro periodo, sicuramente avrei fatto la "ballerina" e come vedete nel quilt che avevo fatto lo scorso anno, la "ballerina di danza classica".

Daydreaming!

It's so nice, costless, and makes you imagine anything, in the way and how long you prefer.

If I was born with a skinny body and in another period, I would have become a "dancer" for sure and of course as you will see in the quilt I made last year I would have been a "classic dancer".

Per tenermi aggiornata guardo spesso il sito del "Teatro alla Scala" e ieri girando in lungo e in largo per il teatro ho trovato questa foto.

Si tratta del logo dell'Accademia del teatro dedicato ai costumisti. E in questo sito trovate altre foto.

And to be always up to date I usually take a look at "Teatro alla Scala" web site. Yesterday looking around in the theatre I saw this picture.

Fantastico, il simbolo del mio attuale hobby.

Mi piace molto anche la foto sotto, con la scarpetta e la ballerina che si arrampica per raggiungere il suo sogno.

Allora ho pensato alle mie "Donne a Milano", sulle quali avevo appoggiato un po' di spole di cotone.

So I started thinking about my "Women in Milan", on which I left some cotton spools.

Il quilt è finito ma il mio gioco con la fantasia è proseguito.....

The quilt is finished, but my fantasy game kept going on.....

Il primo racconta la storia di un albero che viveva davanti alla finestra della casa di Anna Frank.

The first one tells the story of a tree living in front of the window of Anna Frank's home.

Il secondo "Da Quando è arrivato Lallo" affronta il tema della malattia oncologica nei bambini.

The second one "Da Quando è arrivato Lallo" ("Since Lallo arrived") is about oncological diseases in children.

E poi "La Luna e Lo Stagno", dove una anatra e una rana sognano di andare sulla luna.
