SHIBORI

Ieri Milano era una città da vivere in bici o a piedi passeggiando per i suoi parchi, c'era un bel sole caldo che rendeva tutto allegro.

Io però non sono stata all'aria aperta.
Insieme ad altre 11 signore, mi sono chiusa nel laboratorio di un negozio di patchwork e lì abbiamo trascorso l'intera giornata.
Oggi ripensandoci mi sono detta che i colori e le emozioni che colorano le nostre giornate, me le hanno date Agostina Zwilling e le "ragazze" che erano con me.
Il corso di Shibori che era stato programmato è stato interessante e armonioso.
Agostina è una artista che sa trasmettere tutte le sue conoscenze coinvolgendoti con molta tranquillità.
Il gruppo diventa tutt'uno e lavorare insieme è piacevole.
Tutte noi abbiamo ascoltato, cucito, colorato, realizzato, scoperto con ansia e curiosità le nostre piccole opere, abbiamo chiacchierato e assorbito da chi ci stava attorno emozioni, consigli, suggerimenti e allegria.
Il risultato è stato , mentre tornavo a casa e ancora oggi mi sono sentita carica di soddisfazione.
Ringrazio Roberta che ha organizzato, tutte coloro che erano presenti e ringrazio Agostina per quello che mi ha trasmesso.

Yesterday, Milan was a city to live by bike or walk through its parks, there was a nice warm sun that made everyone happy.

But I haven't been around.

With other 11 ladies, I closed myself in a patchwork shop and there we spent the whole day.

Now looking back, I tell myself that the colors and emotions that color our days, were given to me by Agostina Zwilling  and the "girls" who were with me.

The Shibori course that was scheduled was interesting and harmonious.

Agostina is an artist who knows how to transmit all his knowledge with great quiet.

The group becomes a whole and working together is nice.

We all listened, sewed, colored, realized, discovered with anxiety and curiosity our small works, we chatted and absorbed from the others around us (their emotions, hints, tips and happiness).

The result was exceptional, and while I was coming back home, and still today, I feel full of satisfaction.

I would like to thank Roberta  who organized, everyone who was there and Agostina for what you gave to me.

Spiegazione.
materiale:
1 cerchio di 11,5 cm di diametro di panno un po' pelosetto
1 cerchio di 5 cm di diametro di panno un po' pelosetto
un semicerchio di base 11 cm diviso in due sempre dello stesso materiale
2 pezzetti di pannolenci arancio per il becco
2 pezzetti di pannolenci arancio, sagomate per le zampine
nastrino da legare intorno al collo.
esecuzione:
fare filza al cerchio grande e piccolo - imbottire e chiudere.
incollare il cerchio grande sul piccolo
curvare e incollare i due pezzi del semicerchio per le ali.
incollare il becco, le zampine, gli occhietti.
annodare nastrino intorno al collo.

Tutorial.
material:
a 4 and 1/4" deameter circle of hairy fabric
a 2" deameter circle of hairy fabric
a 4 and 1/4" semicircle divided in two parts - same fabric
2 little pieces of orange cloth "lenci" for the beak
2 little pieces of orange cloth "lenci" - outlined for the legs
a piece of ribbon
execution:
baste the big and the small circles - stuff and close them
glue the big circle on the small one
bend and glue the two semicircles for the wings
glue the beak, the legs, and the eyes.
tie the ribbon around the neck

TUTORIAL CESTINO --- BASKET TUTORIAL

Dopo una lunga attesa e dopo aver visto che avete indovinato, oggi vi posto il tutorial per cucire questi cestini. Io ho imparato a realizzarli da "Magia delle pezze". Possono contenere qualsiasi cosa, dai cioccolatini ai trucchi, dai fiori alle spoline di cotone. Io li sto preparando per Pasqua e li regalerò con all'interno gli ovetti di cioccolato. Si possono fare di diverse misure.

After a long wait and after seeing you got it right, I dediced to post the tutorial to sew these CESTINI.

I learned it from "Magia delle pezze".

You can put anything you like in them: chocolate, make up, flowers and cotton.

I'm making them for Easter and will give them as a gift with small chocolate eggs.

They can be of two different sizes.

Preparare due pezzi di cotone e un pezzo di imbottitura. Questi tre che vedete misurano cm 40x40.

Prepare two pieces of fabric and one piece of batting.These three you see measure 40x40 cm.

Accoppiarli mettendo i due pezzi di stoffa diritto contro diritto e poi mettere sotto l'imbottitura.

Put them together, placing the two pieces of fabric with the right sides facing each other and then put the batting below.

Cucire tutto attorno lasciando un pezzettino per rivoltare, stirare molto bene.

Sew all around except one small piece, so you can turn it inside-out. Iron really well.

Fare tutto attorno una o due cuciture o anche di più 

Sew all around once or twice or even more times

se preferite potete farle a mano.

If you prefer you can make them by hand.

Piegare a metà e dividere la misura del lato lungo in tre parti suddividendole così: la metà di un terzo (fare un segno con un pennarello) due terzi ( fare un segno con un pennarello) e la metà di un terzo.

Dividere il lato corto in due parti, fare un segno col pennarello alla metà.

Fold in the middle and divide the measure of the long side into three parts, in this way: the half of one third (make a sing with a pen) two thirds (make another sign) and the half of one third.

Divide the short side into two parts, make a sign in the middle using a pen.

Unire i due segni e poi ripiegando il quadrato, nell'altro senso fare lo stesso procedimento.

Put the two signs together and then fold the square, do the same thing in the other direction.

Se aprirete il quadrato vi troverete dei segni così. 

Ricordatevi che il lato dove segnerete sarà l'interno del cestino.

If you open the square you'll find these sings. 

Remind that the side you'll put the sign will also be the inner side of the basket.

Adesso cucite insieme i quattro segni che avete fatto fissando bene le cuciture prima due e poi le altre due. Vi troverete un lavoro come quello della foto.

Now, sew together the four signs you made fixing really well the seams: first two of them and then the other two. You'll have something like this.

Rivoltatelo e poi se volete potete lasciarlo così, 

Turn it inside-out and then if you want you can leave it as it is,

altrimenti potete rivoltare le punte e fissarle con un bottone.

or you can turn down the points and hold them with a button.

In questi giorni ne preparerò un po' e di diverse misure.

IL GIOCO DELL'OCAPATCH --- THE PATCHGOOSE'S GAME

Il gioco dell'oca, anzi " il gioco dell'ocapatch".

Snakes and Ladders (in Italian "Gioco dell'Oca" - "The Goose's Game"), or "The Patchgoose's Game".

Avevo una idea in testa... avendo lavorato o meglio giocato per tanti anni coi bimbi della scuola materna, volevo mettere insieme le mie due passioni, il patchwork e i bimbi, in modo particolare i bimbi che sono un po' sfortunati. Poi alcune mie amiche mi hanno invogliato ancora di più.

I had an idea in my mind... I worked, or better played, for a long time with children at the nursery school. I wanted to put together two passions, patchwork and children, in particular poorer unfortunate children.Then some friends encouraged me more.

Ho iniziato con un blog che conteneva tutte le regole e le indicazioni per realizzare il gioco.

 I started with a blog with all the rules and the instructions to realize the game.

ma poichè giocare da soli non è bello, ho provato ad inviare le mie amiche di Quilt Italia. Non pensavo ed invece a tantissime quilters piace ancora giocare. La loro risposta è stata gioiosa e velocissima. 

Hanno risposto in tantissime ma purtroppo hanno potuto partecipare solo in 72.

I loro nomi sono tutti scritti nella grande etichetta cucita sul retro e fotografata da Anita.

but playing alone is not fun, thus I asked my friends of Quilt Italia to join me. I couldn't believe how many quilters still love playing. Their answer was super happy and quick. A lot of them wrote me but only 72 could take part in it. All my friend's names are on the great label photographed by Anita.

Entro una data decisa in partenza, mi sono arrivati tutti i blocchi,

Ho iniziato ad assemblare tutti i blocchi e a formare un lungo serpentone

che poi Teresa  ha trasformato in quilt.

E' grande 4 metri per 3 ed è un accogliente tappeto che ora verrà donato alla "Nostra Famiglia" di Conegliano che aiuta i bimbi che devono fare riabilitazione.

It's 4x3 meters big and it's a comfortable carpet that will now be given as a gift to the Association "Nostra Famiglia" ("Our Family") in Conegliano. This Association helps children during rehabilitation.

Ma potevano le quilters non provare a giocare? No, hanno giocato e Maria Elisa è la prima vincitrice.

RI-CUCIRE --- RE-SEW

Ho trovato la parola per il mio 2013.
Lo scorso anno era OLTRE e seguirla mi è risultato molto difficile. Ho dovuto oltrepassare molti ostacoli che non avrei pensato.

Ricca dell'esperienza del 2012 la parola di quest'anno è RI-CUCIRE.
RI è l'abbreviazione di riprendere, riconsiderare, ricominciare, rispolverare, riflettere, riappropriarsi.
RI-CUCIRE = riprendere a cucire, mi interesso di patchwork ma da tempo non cucio.
RI-CUCIRE = rimettere insieme le parti di me un po' dimenticate che ora reclamano attenzione.
RI-CUCIRE = ricominciare ad ascoltare le emozioni quando arrivano e fermarsi per seguirle.
RI-CUCIRE = dedicare tempo a rinnovare quelle amicizie che si sono un po' distratte.
RI-CUCIRE = riprendere il contatto con il mondo web ultimamente un po' trascurato.
Ho preparato questa foto che riassume tutte queste cose.
Tra un anno vedremo come sarà andata. Ciao a tutti e Buon Anno. 

I found the word for my 2013. 
Last year it was BEYOND and follow it was very difficult. I had to overcome many ostacles that I would never thought. 

With the experience of 2012 I now choose the word for this year which is RE-SEW. 
RI is the abbreviation for resume, reconsider, begin again, brush up, reflect, regaining possession.
RE-SEW = resume sewing, I am interested in patchwork but it's been a long time since I last sewed. 
RE-SEW = put together again the parts of me that I forgot and are now asking for attention. 
RE-SEW = re-start listening to the emotions when they arrive and stop to follow them. 
RE-SEW = devote time to renew those friendships which have been a bit distracted. 
RE-SEW = resume contact with the web world which I left a bit on one side.
