BAMBINI --- CHILDREN

Con quasi due mesi di anticipo Giacomo e Caterina sono nati.

Sono due gemellini nipoti della mia amica Emy, che naturalmente è al settimo cielo.

Almost two months earlier... Giacomo and Caterina are born.
They are twins, grandchildren of my friend Emy... who feels on the top of the world of course.

a fine febbraio nascerà anche Anna, nipote di Rosy, un'altra mia amica,
at the end of February Anna will be born too. She's the granddaughter of Rosy, another friend of mine,

e per fine marzo nascerà Alice, nipote di Grazia, che si riscalderà sotto questa copertina cucita, come i coniglietti e la bambolina, dalla nonna.

and at the end of March Alice will be born, granddaughter of Grazie. She will get warm under this blanket sewed by her grandmom that sewed the rabbits and the doll too.

Io sarò una nonna in prestito e intanto continuo la dieta.

Ma ora sono più contenta, infatti ho scoperto di essere in buona compagnia.

Anche Barbie si è messa a dieta. Sono sicura che ce la faremo e raggiungeremo l'obiettivo.

I'll be a borrowed grandmom and in the meanwhile I'll go on with the diet.

But I feel happier now, because I've found that I have good company.

Barbie is on a diet too. I'm sure we will be strong and reach our goal.

FACEVA FREDDO --- IT WAS VERY COLD

Ieri 16/01/ 2010 in Val Masino la temperatura alle 15.00 era - 8°. Avevo molto freddo.

Yesterday 01/16/2010 in Val Masino the temperature at 3pm was -8°. I was very cold.

CASSOUELA

Dal prossimo lunedì (e sarà veramente il prossimo lunedì) mi metterò un po' a dieta e mi sembrava giusto concludere questo periodo di dolci, pranzi, ecc ecc con la CASSOEULA un piatto tipico brianzolo che io cucino una volta all'anno e in genere in gennaio perchè mi sembra che le verze, che in questo periodo gelano un po', sono più buone.

La faccio un po' a modo mio e non seguendo la ricetta tradizionale che contiene numerose parti di maiale.

Ecco la mia ricetta, potete vedere i passaggi nelle foto.

1) lavare molto bene le verze e lasciarle asciugare su di un canovaccio (due belle verze x 4 persone)

2)lavare un kg di costine di maiale

3)lavare e pulire un rotolino di cotenne

4)preparare un soffritto con pancetta a cubetti, sedano, carote, cipolla

5)aggiungere costine e cotenne e dopo averle rosolate bagnarle con un bicchiere di vino rosso

6)quando il vino sarà evaporato aggiungere un po' di concentrato di salsa e poi adagio adagio le verze

7/8)mescolare spesso affinchè non bruci, aggiustare di sale

9)quando vi sembra pronta (deve essere piuttosto asciutta) aggiungere dei verzini che avrete cotto a parte, cuocere tutto insieme per 10 minuti.

10)spegnere e preparare la pèolenta

11)preparare i piatti

12)gustare questa pietanza brianzola (Lombardia) accompagnandola con un bicchiere di vino rosso PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA (Puglia)

e poi dieta.

Next Monday (and it will really be the next!) I will go on a light diet and the best way to end a period of sweets, dinners, and so on is with the CASSOEULA .

It’s a dish proper of the area where I live (which is called Brianza).
I usually cook it once a year, and in particular in January, because it seems to me that cabbages freeze in this part of the year and so they are more tasty.
I cook it the “Linda way”, I don’t actually follow step-by-step the original recipe, which contains many parts of the pork.
Here you are my recipe, you can see the steps in the pictures.
1) wash very well the cabbages and let them dry on a dishcloth (2 big cabbages for 4 people)
2) wash 1 kg of spare ribs
3) wash and clean a roll of pigskin
4) fry lightly bacon cubes, celery, carrot and onion
5) add the spare ribs and the pigskin. Brown them and then wet with a glass of red wine.
6) when the wine evaporates, add some tomato pureé. Then add the cabbages, slowly one after the other.
7/8) mix often so it won’t char; add salt (the necessary)
9) when it looks like it’s ready (it should be a bit “dry”), add the “verzini” (it’s a kind of causage – you should cook them before in another pot). Then cook everything together for about 10 minutes.
10) switch off and cook the “polenta” (cornmeal porridge or mush)
11) prepare the dishes.
12) enjoy this meal from Brianza (Lombardy) with a glass of red wine (I suggest you PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA from Puglia).
and then… diet!

Oggi è la Festa della Befana, la vecchina che tanto piace ai bimbi.

E questo post è dedicato ai bimbi che durante il 2009 hanno giocato con le stoffe e ci hanno fatto divertire e ritornare un po' bambini.

A Marzo i BAMBINI DEL PATCHMED hanno realizzato "Il lago arcobaleno", assemblato e quiltato da Nadia Angelotti.

In agosto i ragazzi della Scuola media comprensorio di Varese 1, aiutati da Daniela Cassani e Milena Braga, col quilt "C'ERA UNA VOLTA IN ORIENTE" hanno vinto il primo premio a Birmingham.
Last August the guys of the secondary school of the district of Varese 1, helped by Daniela Cassani and Milena Braga, won the first price in Birmingham with the quilt "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE EAST".

I bambini della scuola media Virgilio di Lavinio coordinati da Loretta Mochi Aspri, hanno partecipato al concorso di Birmingham con questo quilt.

I ragazzi della scuola per l'Europa di Parma, coordinati da Giovanna Coscelli, hanno realizzato questo quilt per Birmingham.

A Giugno i ragazzi di Alessandria, aiutati da Bruna, hanno mandato i loro quilt ai bambini dell'Abruzzo.

In ottobre i ragazzi della scuola Guastalla di Monza hanno realizzato "Il girotondo dell'amicizia", quilt trapuntato da Teresa Gai.

In novembre i bambini di Lavinio, aiutati da Loretta Mochi Aspri, hanno realizzato i primi 4 mesi del calendario del 2010.

A Dicembre Martina, aiutata dalla nonna Enrica, ha preparato gli alberi di Natale per le sue insegnanti.

L'ho chiamato "gli appunti di linda" ed è fatto a schede e alla fine dell'anno avrò una agenda anzi la mia agenda.

Sarà in italiano ma ho messo il traduttore e parlerà solo ed esclusivamente di lavori miei e non miei ma che mi riguardano.

I've a news to tell you!!

I've just opened a new blog!!! Yes, yes a brand new blog.

I've named it "gli appunti di linda" and it is made with cards

that I will print at the end of each month and at the end of the year will have an agenda, my agenda.
