DOMENICA --- SUNDAY

Oggi 25 Marzo è stata una bella Domenica nonostante qualche guaio.
Mi alzo e già mi manca un'ora di sonno per il cambio dell'ora. Esco con mio marito (per un cafferino) e al mio ritorno trovandomi sola decido di iniziare a cucinare prima di leggere i messaggi sul computer.
Tutto pronto, accendo il fornello e mi siedo al computer e dopo un po' mentre ero sul blog di Nellie che mi cattura completamente (spiegava benissimo come fa a creare i suoi quilts) mi dimentico della cucina e naturalmente dei peperoni che bruciano completamente.
Dopo poco arrivano mia figlia e mio marito che annusano e mi guardano, io dico "ero negli USA con Nellie". La loro reazione è stata "Bene andiamo a mangiare la pizza, ma subito che poi c'è Valentino" (Rossi naturalmente).
Perfetto andiamo e al ritorno c'è la corsa in TV. Benissimo io mi metto alla macchina da cucire e provo a fare un campione per una striscia natalizia della quale Nadine sabato mi ha mandato le spiegazioni. Mi è venuta abbastanza bene e penso di fare una striscia natalizia.
Naturalmente ogni tanto rispondevo e mandavo e-mail e fingevo di interessarmi alla corsa.
Ecco tutto questo mentre fuori pioveva, poi vado sul blog di Marisa e cosa vedo il quilt "casa dolce casa" perfetto, sembra messo proprio per me.


Today 25 March it was a fine Sunday in spite of some difficulties.
I got up and first of all we had lost an hour of sleeping (in Italy we have post the watch an hour behind).
I went out for a coffee with my husband and then came back and being alone I decided to cook before reading e-mails.
All was ready, I lighted the gas and I sat down in front of pc. I went on Nellie that delighted me (there were the explanations about how she did her works) and I forgot the kitchen and the peppers that burned. After a while my daughter and my husband came back. They started smelling and looking at me and I said "Ops I was in the USA with Nellie". They said "Well now let's go and have a pizza but very quickly because then there is Valentino!" (Rossi of course)
Well we went and when we were back there was the race on tv. I went to my sewing machine and I tried to realize a part of a table runner that Nadine sent me saturday. It was nice and I think to do a table runner for Christmas.
Sometimes I replied and sent e-mails. I tried to seem interested in the race too.
In the while outside it was raining. Then I went on Marisa blog where I saw ...the quilt "Home sweet home"... simply fantastic! It seems posted for me!

DUE COLORI IMPORTANTI --- TWO IMPORTANT COLOURS

Il bianco e il rosso sono i colori della mia città.
Circa un mese fa ho visto sul blog di Simonetta quattro blocchi bianchi e rossi, ho chiesto spiegazioni ed ora i due colori oltre a piacermi sono diventati i due colori della speranza. Questi sono i miei blocchi per aiutare la ricerca sulla leucemia.
Ringrazio Clare per il suo lavoro e per l'amore che ha per questo progetto.

About a month ago I saw on Simonetta blog four white and red blocks and I asked her about them. Now I really like the two colours and they have become the colours of hope. These are my blocks
to help the research of leukemia

LE STELLE DI ANDREA --- ANDREA'S STARS

Questo post è tutto per Andrea.

Vi chiederete: Chi è Andrea?.... Andrea è un amico, un ragazzo giovane di 23 anni, semplice innamorato della vita in tutte le sue sfaccettature.
Purtroppo Andrea un giorno dello scorso settembre, durante una passeggiata in montagna è scivolato e ci ha lasciato.
Aveva un hobby un po' particolare in comune col padre. Insieme alla sera andavano a studiare le stelle con un cannocchiale di quelli grossi (non so come si chiama) che si caricavano sulle spalle e passavano ore ed ore a scrutare il cielo e le stelle.
La sua tesi di laurea apprezzata dai professori e molto attesa era proprio su una studio che lui aveva fatto nel campo delle ricerche scientifiche. Essendo molto importante è stata poi discussa dagli stessi professori.
La coperta "Le stelle di Andrea" è stata realizzata pensando che ora Andrea è la in mezzo alle stelle che tanto amava, che ci guarda e si fa guardare.
Questo inverno qui da noi il cielo è stato molte volte sereno e stellato e molte volte mi è venuto spontaneo di guardare in alto e di dire "Ciao Andrea".
La coperta, realizzata dal gruppo Quilt Italia Lombardia, è stata poi donata ai genitori di Andrea.

Maybe you're asking yourself: Who is Andrea?....Andrea is a friend, a 23 years old boy, simple and in love with life in all its aspects.
Unfortunately Andrea in a day of last autumn, during an excursion in the mountains slided and died.
He shared with his father a very particular hobby. In the evenings they used to study the stars with a big telescopy (I don't know the right name) that they carried on their shoulders and used to spend a lot of time looking at the sky and the stars.
His thesis was about a study in the scientific area, this work was really appreciated and waited by his professors who decided to discuss it (because of the importance of the discoveries Andrea did).
The cover "Andrea's stars" was done thinking that now Andrea is there with the stars that he loved so much, that he is looking at us and that we can look at him.
This winter here in Italy the sky has been many times serene and with many stars. The most of the time I used to look at the sky and say "Ciao Andrea".
The cover, realized by Quilt Italia Lombardia's group, was then given to Andrea's parents.

A tutte le donne che hanno un progetto di lavoro, di amore, di vita
e a tutte le donne che con un grande sforzo riusciranno ad averlo.
Insomma... a tutte le donne che con le loro diverse caratteristiche,
come tanti pezzettini di stoffa, formano un bel patchwork colorato.
