UNA GIORNATA AL LAGO --- A DAY AT THE LAKE

After a lot of rain, yesterday it was a wonderful day and we took that chance to go to the lake.
This is our little town, Castelletto Ticino, and it is exactly at the end of Lake Maggiore, where the Ticino comes out and starts again its way as a river.

A Sesto Calende sulla sponda opposta c'era............
In Sesto Calende, on the opposite side, there was...................

the flower market..........azalee and rhododendrons, typical flowers of Lake Maggiore.

below you can see a new variety of geranium, I don't like it very much, I think it's too big.

and these are the azalee of my garden...................wonderful!!!!! admit it, come on!

mio marito che ha trovato...........
my husband, who found...........

due lumache innamorate.
two snails in love.

These are two big pillow, a big cookie and a watercolor, I did some years ago with Marta and obviously lie on my daughter's bed.

In this house, which was my husband's grandparents' house, there is a lot of old stuff such as this LENCI doll, who is exactly 99 years old. It was the doll of aunt Vittoria, who never married and always lived in this house. Then we fixed everything up and tried to save what we could.
This doll was a gift for Vittoria, who was 2 years old, by Maria, who was 24 years older, in occasion of her wedding.
Vittoria has kept the doll sitting on a chair beside her bed all life long.

Your town looks beautiful - we had a fabulous holiday at Lake Garda a few years ago (can you tell I'm a big 'fan' of Italy?)

Beautiful lake, lovely flowers, and the Lenci doll is a treasure. I have several newer (1980's) Lenci dolls in my collection. They are beautiful, but not as wonderful as the old ones.

Oh, you live in a lovely spot of Italy. I love Italy especially the lakes. I spent wonderful vacations at Lago di Garda and at Lago d'Iseo.

What a lovely view in your town! And the flowers are wonderful! Your's in the first place:).
Old objects, with their memories are sometimes like a travel in time. It is up to us to make them interesting stories and treasures.
And for the future, we are writing everyday our one novel.
Have a nice Sunday,
