RICORDI --- MEMORIES

FANTASTICO!!!!!

In the last days, reading Meggie 's blog, I've been re-thinking of my youth.
She wrote some posts and uploaded some pictures that showed how we used to dress when we were younger.
I used to do by myself a lot of stuff..waistcoats, pullovers, ponchos, scarfs.. by crochet.
I don't have all these stuff anymore, but....I remembered I still should have had a little bag at my mom's. I did it using raffia when I was 14 or 15.
My mom is not with us anymore but my sister, who still lives in her house, helped me looking for it, And here it is........
THIS BAG IS 44 YEARS OLD
My daughter, Isabella, saw it and kept it for her. Last night she went out with MY bag.
What happened?! .....her friends asked their moms, grandmoms, aunts and so....old belts, scarfs, hats came out.
Yesterday I was looking Denise 's blog and what I see? ...a pair of espadrillas, like the ones we used to wear when we were younger, and she personalized them with a wonderful patchwork-flower.
WONDERFUL!!!!!!

That is a great bag, and to think it's been around for 44 years! I like the fact that the styles from when we were young are returning again.

Oh Teodo, I love that bag! How lovely that your daughter loves it. It is still pretty. Isnt it funny how styles come & go.
My mother used to say "Keep anything long enough, & it will come into fashion again!" How true.

thanks for passing by my blog e per gli auguri di buon compleanno; yours is great, you know, anch'io dovrei forse fare tutto in due lingue, ho in continuazione amici che si lamentano o dell'inglese o dell'italiano, but I'm not patient enough. Il tuo blog è veramente, come dire, sereno; I'll be back soon e molto spesso.
Ciao from sunny Rome

A bag full of memories. This evening , near my daughter, we feel that time is sometimes an enemy. But, we like to look forward to the future... with a precious bag in hand. XX Hugs, Sma

THat bag is so groovy. It's funny how the fashion cycle goes around. I have been experimenting with crotchet lately and loving it.
