Unexpectedly I was caught by a terrible backache and I was blocked for some days.
Hepl...I couldn't move at all!!!
In the meantime I've been thinking, sleeping, taking medicines and so on...

Here you can see the pictures of my "Guicci" quilt I've took for the show Club del punto in croce in Florence for the Guicciardini Blanket.
For the people who don't know the history of this blanket, it was realized in 1395 for the wedding of Piero Guicciardini and Laudamia Acciauoli.
Actually there were two blankets. One is at Museo del Bargello in Florence, and the other one - which is a bit bigger - is at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
Now, thanks to Nadia (free motion), I want to finish it but I don't know if the border should be green or bordeaux?!?!?!

My Guicci was like this...(I call it Guicci because it sounds tender)

.....adesso è così!

.....now it looks like this!

il bordo sarà?.....verde o bordeaux???

how will the border be?....green or bordeaux???

Sorry to hear you have had backache. It is hard to do anything with a sore back.

Beautiful quilt!
I think either choice of border will look good. The bordeaux appears to be the same fabric the flowers are made from. Using it will unify the whole piece. I like the pattern of your green fabric. I consider it to be neutral to the quilt and the flowers will "pop" out because they will be the only red.
I see the finished quilt has a blue border to repeat the blues of the sheilds.
So many choices. What feels best to you?

Eccoti finalmente!

The quilt is quite pretty. I love the look of applique with the stipple meander in the background which makes the design pop. I'm unsure about the border color...and probably in the minority as I might choose the greens or the color in the original. But whatever you choose is what's important.

The quilt is incredibly lovely. I hope you're feeling better, I've been sidelined with back spasms before and it's AWFUL. I think I'd bind with bordeaux, but do what's right for you!!

I love it-I love it-I love it! It's gorgeous, Teodo! Sorry to be in oppositon with the rest of the world but I would choose the green border..yes it's real that it will be too much green but it will be more "royal", it will have a calming effect.
Watch your backpains...they are awfull and for proper recovery you need total bed rest.

Lovely hanging and the quilting is gorgeous. If you can't decide on what colour, why not both? A small thin border followed by a wider border. LOL how's that for adding to the mix?

very beautiful quilt!

I hope your back is better.
