CONCORSI --- COMPETITIONS

In 2002 I partecipated to my first competition with this quilt called "BACIATA DALLA LUNA" (Kissed by the moon-cm 77x60)
I didn't win but I liked very much to see it hanged together with other beautiful quilts. Since then I've always been partecipating to Italian competitions.

Such beautiful works... you are telented and I like your style.

I think that the most important part of the show is the process and the stories. So I missed something very important here.

These are all wonderful quilts - especially love "lights and shadows".

These are all beautiful works. I especially like the first one with the moon. Very talented. Sometimes people don't win competitions just because the judges have different tastes.

I very much like your moonlit landscape quilt. I like the aura around the full moon. What is the size? Are all of these wonderful quilts made by you?

It's hard to make the leap into competing, it's like putting yourself out there for scrutiny and examination; however, if you enjoy it and gain energy from such showings your work and your confidence will bloom and grow! Great work!!

Thanks for the comments. I think the pattern I've been doing for the Prayer and Square ministry is called Around the World in English. I decided it was the easiest and fastest but had some impact too. I'm getting a little tired of the same pattern all the time, but I've precut some strips so I'll continue for awhile longer. The scenery work you do are gorgeous. I tried one, piece many years ago and although I framed it, it isn't very striking. You may inspire me.

I love your use of color! I think your quilts are beautiful. And, thanks so much for putting your words in English. Maybe I'll learn some Italian by reading your blog.

My mum always said to me time and time again..... its not the winning that counts its the taking part thats more rewarding than anything else, and \i think thats true dont you?
